Anne had a 46-year long writing career and was the first lady writer to win the prestigious Hugo Award, and was also the first one to receive the Nebula Award. She was particularly famous for her science fiction novel series, Dragonriders of Pern. Anne had migrated to Ireland in 1970 and used to live there until her death. She was born as Anne Inez McCaffrey on Apin Cambridge, Massachusetts, and died on Novemin County Wicklow, Ireland.
